Communication Transfer Major, AA - Academic Plan


Total Credits = 60

The purpose of a statewide articulation agreement is to identify the courses a student at a Colorado public community college must complete as part of an AA/AS degree to be guaranteed to be able to complete the designated baccalaureate degree program at any public four-year college and university (hereafter referred to as receiving institutions) that offers that program within the minimum number of credits designated by the Colorado Commission on Higher Education.

  • *This course requires college level readiness as measured by Accuplacer, ACT, or SAT scores; approved high school course work that is less than five years old; or successful completion of appropriate college-readiness course.
  • AAA 1001  – College 101: Student Experience is required for all new college students seeking degrees or transfer.
  • Additional COM courses beyond the four courses (12 credit hours) identified above in the Additional Required Courses section may not count toward the Communication major at the receiving 4-year institution.
  • All courses required for this degree must be completed with a “C” or better to be considered for transfer to another Colorado institution. Transferability of courses to colleges or universities outside of Colorado is determined by the receiving institution.

  • Electives: : Select from any GT course, AAA 1001 , AAA 1009 , ACC 1021 , ACC 1022 , BUS 1015 , BUS 2016 , BUS 2017 , BUS 2026 , CIS 1018 , CSC 1060 , CSC 1061 , ENG 1031  (or higher), HNR 1000 , HNR 2089 , HWE 1060 HWE 1065 , MAT 1240  (or higher), any Foreign Language courses (including ASL) numbered 1011 or higher, or any course in the following prefixes except Special Topics, Independent Study, Capstone, and Internships: ANT, ART, BIO (1000 or above), CHE, HIS, HUM, LIT, MUS, PED, PHI, PHY (1000 or above), POS, PSY, SOC.
  • In order to meet program requirements, students registered for ENG 1021  or ENG 1031  must also register for ENG 0094  unless they can demonstrate otherwise meeting the ENG 0094  standard through assessment testing, prior college coursework, or recent High School coursework.
